Perplexity’s AI Failures – Part 04 (Series)

In this fourth installment of our ongoing series on AI misfires, we spotlight a particularly amusing visual from Perplexity’s attempt at illustrating a basic SEO workflow. What was meant to be a clean, informative infographic turned into a comedy of errors—thanks to a cascade of misspellings and misinterpretations.

The image features a staircase labeled with key SEO tasks, but each step is hilariously botched.

  1. Keyword Research” becomes “KETWORD BERERCH,”
  2. Clean Website” morphs into “EFEAN NEXISITE,” and
  3. Manual Submission” is rendered as “MANUAL SUPPSION.”
  4. Even “Content Publishing” isn’t spared, appearing as “CONTENT PUALISHING.”While the icons are visually sound, the text undermines the entire purpose—highlighting the dangers of unchecked automation.

This fail underscores a critical point: AI can assist, but it cannot replace human editorial judgment. Especially in fields like digital marketing, where clarity and precision are paramount, relying solely on AI without review can lead to embarrassing outcomes. Let this be a reminder that behind every good AI output, there should be a vigilant human eye.

Stay tuned for Part 05, where we dive deeper into Perplexity’s editorial blind spots.
